Good morning! How are you feeling? What are your plans for this holiday season? It's such a strange year. What are you doing to take care of yourself and keep this winter merry and bright?
Today's little offering is just a poem and a picture. Both of which I love for their nostalgic feel.
Have a lovely, lovely day!
Christmas Stars
by Marie Irish
The golden Christmas stars shine down
With a cheerful Christmas glow,
And twinkle a Yuletide message
To the busy world below;
They tell of the peace and good will
The Christmas time brings to earth,
The peace and good will all should feel
At this season of joy and mirth.
Peace and Good will. May we all find it during this holiday season, and carry it throughout the new year!
ReplyDeleteYes and yes! <3
DeleteAlways love me some poetry!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to sharing yours!
DeleteThey're both lovely! I love Christmas time and am really going to concentrate this year on more decorating, more focusing on prayer, and whatever else I think of that brings me joy and peace. Won't get to see any family, which is heartbreaking because it's about the only time we're all together anymore. But everyone's healthy, so I'll take that!
ReplyDeleteI'm in an unexpectedly holiday-ish mood--I mean, today I baked brownies for tonight's dessert! I don't think I've made dessert in over a year. I'm not sure why I'm feeling so cheerful with the pandemic numbers now soaring beyond terrifying, but I am. I'm determined to stay in the moment and keep Christmas merry.
DeleteNice!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteSuch lovely poem and picture. Makes me want to sip hot chocolate and watch old Christmas movies. I may not decorate this year. I’m still deciding. What I am doing is making gifts. Small pieces of jewelry, ornaments, etc., for the family. Every day I get to feel a little bit of Christmas magic.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely way of being in the holiday moment. I was going to do a very pared down decking the halls, but suddenly I got a wave of...something between rebellion and holiday spirit, and I'm lighting lanterns every night and insisting every dinner be special and just trying to keep upbeat and festive.
DeleteHow lovely! The card looks like a townhouse I would love to inhabit. My sister sent everyone an amaryllis bulb this year, since we won’t see each other, we’ve been sharing pictures of our tiny green shoots. It’s also been a great excuse to have my office temp up to 70. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I love that idea! <3
DeleteNice!!! I love a good, heartfelt Christmas poem. This will be a low-key holiday for us since I'm still in recovery and have to keep my leg elevated and iced for the next 2 months. Walking and mild bicycling are recommended as part of my physical therapy so that's what we'll do. A year from now, things should be back to normal both at home and in the world, so I'll just enjoy that thought and be happy.
ReplyDeleteI'm hanging onto the hope of life being back to normal--or even better than normal. <3
DeleteHoliday plans are still up in the air, we're not sure whether or not we're going to be able to get together. I am, however, finding that being a recluse is perfect for me.
ReplyDeleteLOL it's a good time of year for hibernating.
DeleteVery nice.
ReplyDeleteI love that picture so much, and the poem seems a perfect match.
DeleteSuch a lovely poem! I love when it says 'The peace and good will all should feel' It's so true!
ReplyDeleteThank you
I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
DeleteI need a weekend of peace ❤️
ReplyDeleteI don't doubt it--and I hope you get it! <3
DeleteThanks for sharing the lovely picture and poem. I mailed holiday cards Friday, and I'm wearing Christmas garments and jewelry (you can never have enough Santa earrings, reindeer brooches, and ugly sweaters). I love watching old Christmas movies and listening to sacred, medieval or Renaissance music. I've pulled out my Christmas decorations and soon the apartment will look like a crafter went bonkers.
ReplyDeleteIt's the 18th and I am still putting "final" touches on the holiday decorations. :-D
DeleteI am expecting Mr. Magoo to pop out of that house any minute. The nights are bitter cold right now, but I like feeling with hot chocolate. I hope everyone is warm and safe.
