Advent Calendar Day 14

 Good morning and welcome to another chilly and cloudy Monday in December. Only 11 days till Christmas. I still can't believe this year is nearly over. Not that I'm not happy to see it go. I have high hopes for 2021, and I'm guessing you do too.

We have a brand new contributor to the Advent Calendar this morning. Terry Wylis, who you may know from novels like Kissing Sherlock Holmes and Solitude & Sea Glass written with T.D. McKcKinney--or from just hanging out with the gang on Facebook.

Terry is sharing her lovely art and poetry with us.

Christmas Is...

The smell of pine and gingerbread,

The warmth of fire's glow;

A moment of affection shared

Beneath the mistletoe;

A diamond-fall of snowflakes

That carry their own light;

Sweet reverence for the tiny Child

Born on that holy night;

Searching for that special gift

That shows how much you care;

Voices singing joyfully

The carols held so dear;

A bond with friends and family

The love held in our hearts;

The little things filled with the joy

That Christmastime imparts.

  1. Thanks for sharing that beautiful art and poetry, Terry - your poem really captured the spirit of Christmas! For me Christmas starts when I fly home and it’s about sitting around the fire with my family and friends playing games, drinking wine and eating mince pies!

    1. I couldn't agree more. That moody sky, the gently nostalgic distillation of all the best moments of the holidays.

  5. Thank you so much fun sharing, Terry. Both the poem and the picture are beautiful!
    For me, Christmas is the wonderful smells of pine, apple cider, cookies. And the sights of red and green, and twinkling lights.

    1. So glad you like the poem. Sadly, none of our m/m books are currently in print, though I'm working on a new solo piece. We do have one m/f romance still available, "Hot Chocolate & Angel Kisses" (I write m/f as T. L. Lawrence).

  7. That is so pretty and sweet and soft! It easily evokes what Christmas is to me: Christ and hope;the joy of being with family and memories of how much Mom and Daddy loved having everybody together;the innocence of children that you wish could last forever; decorations and music;giving and receiving. Thank you, Terry for sharing. ❤

  11. ALSO I have to apologize to Terry. When I was typing up her lovely poem, I typed "The smile of pine and gingerbread," when of course it should have been "The smell..." The problem is, I was smiling when I typed it, and my fingers followed suit. :-)

  13. Breakup is painful, sometimes we pretend to be fine but we are not, fighting to get the one we love back is also fighting to get back our joy and happiness. After my boyfriend of one year broke up with me, I could barely speak without crying. I felt blindsided and didn't know what to do. I didn't know if I could get him back and the anxiety was unbearable. I scoured the internet and after reading countless articles and websites about spells, I came across Lord Zakuza number + 1 (740) 573-9483. I wanted our relationship back and Lord Zakuza guaranteed me that my boyfriend will come back to me. So, I followed the instructions & plans that Lord Zakuza laid out for me and within 48 hours, we were back together and so in love! I know that it doesn't always happen that quickly, but Lord Zakuza said he's spells are effective and it did! I'm so grateful and I can boldly say that if you have been broken up with and you want to get that person back, Get in touch with him for Lord Zakuza is a GOD on Earth and he also specialises on spells to get pregnant for your partner, to get cured from any sickness or diseases, to win a lottery E.T.C. I'll never forget how he helped me. Email him now via: lordzakuza7@gmail.com
