Day 8 already! It seems the holiday season is flying past as fast as the rest of the year.
Today I'm giving away three copies of If Only in My Dreams, the print collection of my five Christmas novellas. This is the only collection that has all my Christmas stories in one nice big package.
Share the three elements you personally find essential to a holiday romance story in the comment section below, and I'll randomly choose three participants to receive a free copy.
Thanks for this chance. I think essential are snow shoes, mistletoe and a lot of hot chocolate. ;)
ReplyDeleteI like a good holiday romance. My three elements are food, love and joy. :)
ReplyDeleteI think you need conflict, magic of Christmas and love.
ReplyDeleteHappy ever after if course.
ReplyDeleteThe wonder of Christmas, by that I mean feeling joy in the world, and the warm feeling of giving.
Cookies. Christmas should include cookies.
Snow, mistletoe and capturing the magic of Christmas!
ReplyDeleteFamily, comfort food (like hot chocolate!), and a little uncertainty before the happy ending.
ReplyDeleteI think you need a good holiday-specific disaster (like a snowstorm or ruined plans), a reunion right in time for the holidays, and then of course a great kiss. :)
ReplyDeleteRelatable characters, a bit of angst, and a way through a seemingly impossible situation to at least an HFN.
ReplyDeleteFinding your way home, forgiveness and realizing what Christmas is about.
ReplyDeleteA fireplace scene, a bit of a mystery, and a dash of Christmas magic!
ReplyDelete1. A jaded person rediscovers the magic of Christmas through
ReplyDelete2. a handsome single male neighbor
3. who bakes him cookies.
A family gathering, a second chance/redemption subtopic and of course a Christmas tree (or a reinder, or some Chrismtas lights… You know, to get in the mood)
ReplyDeleteWell, that would be mulled wide, cinnamon cookies and Christmas tree with all the shiny ornaments and lights. I should also add snow, but with climate change and everything that we do to our planet, I'm not sure we should ask for it. Still, I love holiday season!
ReplyDeleteGoge
1) An HEA
ReplyDelete2) Some kind of moment of overcoming cynicism
3) I love pets :0)
An MC with snark because he's hiding his vulnerability, who is comfortably ensconced on the couch with a cup of hot tea/chocolate and a book, and a cat who deigns to sleep at the foot of the couch but snores.
ReplyDeleteOops, I think I just described me at home in the bleak winter of Southern California.
Snow, snugging before the fireplace, slow burn.
ReplyDeleteSnow, mistletoe, happily ever after
ReplyDeleteI don’t know if my last comment posted, so I’ll try again! A bit of melancholy, snow, and maximal romantic intensity!
ReplyDeleteA family gathering, a second chance or redemption subplot and of course something tinsel (a tree, a reindeer, mistletoe... to get in the mood)
ReplyDeleteStar crossed lovers, comedy, and Happily ever after.
ReplyDeleteUnselfish giving...think Gift of the Magi...some family traditions to either keep or break, and the MCs getting together in front of a cozy fire.
ReplyDeleteHappy ever after, cuddling, and relationship building (no wondering why they even care about each other) :)
ReplyDeleteHummm, don't want to double post, but I don't see my first comment yet, so...I like to see a bit of unselfish love, (think Gift of the Magi) an evening by a fireplace, and a touch of tradition. Whether that tradition is followed or not, or new ones are made, matters not. Those things would make a great holiday romance for me. <3
ReplyDeleteA bit of angst, Christmas decorations and snow (this last one is because I hardly see any snow here, so at least I read about it :))
ReplyDeleteFamily, friends, and home
ReplyDeleteA happy ending (obviously), snow (if the setting allows for it) and comfort food (cookies, hot chocolate an elaborate coked meal.. L
ReplyDeleteSnow - lots of it! like, a snow storm 😅- a fireplace, and plenty of love-making. And food, but it's four, so it doesn't count 😁
ReplyDeleteOh, for me the 3 essential elements to a holiday romance are SNOW (because snow is always kind of magic), a good mug of HOT CHOCOLATE (beacause nothing feels cozier than a hot chocolate after the snow, with or without brandy :P) and a branch of MISTLETOE for the necessary kiss ;)
ReplyDeleteForever after (happy ending), family (found family counts, one person counts!), feels - usually some type of redemption or transformative arc, second chance or the like, for one or more of the characters
ReplyDeleteSeasonal spirit, unsuccessful conniving, humor!
ReplyDeleteSnow, Christmas tree, and egg nog...haha!
ReplyDelete1) Oh the weather outside is frightful
ReplyDelete2) But the fire is so delightful
3) Since we've no place to go
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow 😂
Men, Mistletoe, and Murder!
ReplyDeleteA character with a mega-dose of bah humbug, an impossible situation and a miracle.
ReplyDeleteSnow, a fireplace, laughter
