Advent Calendar Day 22

I always like to share a few lovely, inspirational photos during the course of the advent calendar OR failing that (coz to be honest, I'm not quite in that serene space yet) maybe a little holiday giggle?

Here's how I always picture my Christmas...

But honestly, the reality is a lot closer to...

Okay, maybe not that bad, but... How are your holidays going so far? Do you have any special holiday traditions? What's your favorite part about this time of year? What's your least favorite part about this time of year? Are you the top picture or the bottom picture?

  1. Baking cookies today. It is usually a disaster

  2. Always something in between. There are those exquisite moments, the perfect present, the choir singing at midnight, snowflakes floating past twinkling lights...and the not so exquisite. The grumpy shoppers, the crazy traffic...the returns.Ugh. But the good always seems to outweigh the bad. :) My favorite part of the holidays? The music and the cookie decorating. Ho Ho Ho.

  3. Cooking for the last two days...going well, knock wood, don't want to jinx it! Best holiday tradition is homemade sticky buns on Xmas morning. Yum-O!
Least favorite - despite swearing every year not to, I always wait until the last minute to get the tree. Hence why I was out this morning - yes, this morning! - getting one. :D
Definitely the bottom picture. Substitute pogo sticks or something equally difficult to control for the bikes and that is how Christmas feels this year. But I have faith that it will all come together...and the sticky buns will be super tasty.

  5. The top picture is something lovely to look at, but I could never make the effort to making that utopia a reality...because of the wretched wonderful people I'm surrounded by! LOL A truly disorganised bunch, which make herding cats sound easy. Sigh. But! Christmas has always been and hopefully will continue to be one of a kind and filled with funny unexpected things. I want to wish you, Josh, and all your nearest and dearest a very Happy Christmas followed by a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year in 2020.

  6. Glad to say holidays are going well, since I have a seasonal job where people are actually really nice (and I get time away from family! haha). And I'd have to say I do love the Christmas songs and movies I grew up on, and the glow of the tree lights at night.
Least favorite part is probably that I have to buy myself any gifts I really would like, as it's unlikely someone else will! (Unless they are very easy to find!) And my house flip flops between top and bottom- top when I'm alone and it's late and quiet! haha.

I hope your season is going very well! You help brighten the season for all your readers! <3
