Advent Calendar - Day 22

HAPPY WINTER SOLSTICE

9 comments:

  1. Happy Winter Solstice to you too, Josh! This is always such a joyful, hopeful day for me — one of the nicest milestones during a year, really. Our daytime is only 3 hours 34 minutes right now, but tomorrow it's already 4 minutes longer! It probably doesn't sound much, but it actually feels like the amount of daylight is rapidly increasing. By the end of January every day will be 8 minutes longer than the previous day.

So yes, the thought of having more light in my everyday life is definitely a uplifting and hopeful one. :-)

    1. We are blessed with more than our share of daylight here in New Mexico in comparison to Johanna and some others of our northern hemisphere Q&A JL friends, but I've felt the extended darkness more this year and am so happy for a longer day. Happy Solstice, Josh, Johanna, and all of us!

  5. It is now officially impossible for me to read the words "Winter Solstice" without thinking of 4 delectable pink cakes covered in tiny silver speckled candies.

  6. Happy winter solstice to you, too. Hopefully no human sacrifices occurred. Lol. We get far more sunlight here then Joanna O. does, but I still like knowing that the days are getting longer.
