Advent Calendar Day 31

Well, my dears, the time has come to say goodbye to  2017.

Thank you for your support -- for buying the books, for reviewing, and even simply for telling your friends you enjoyed a story by Josh Lanyon. It's all very much appreciated.

ALSO a very big thank you to everyone who took part in this year's Advent Calendar. Not just those of you who contributed stories and art (although I'm so grateful and so appreciative of your generosity -- you guys are so talented. It's almost unnerving!) but also to those of you who simply participated by leaving comments or joining in the games.

The calendar is a way of saying Thank You to my readers, so there's really no need to participate -- most of the posts average between 800 - 1000 views, so I know people are seeing and enjoying the calendar -- but when so many other people contribute, I want them to know their work is being enjoyed and appreciated too, so it means a lot when someone takes the time to comment. :-) Thank you ALL very much.

I wish every single person who reads this message Health and Happiness in 2018.

From "The Passing of the Year" by Robert W. Service

My pipe is out, my glass is dry;
     My fire is almost ashes too;
But once again, before you go,
     And I prepare to meet the New:
Old Year! a parting word that’s true,
     For we’ve been comrades, you and I --
I thank God for each day of you;
     There! bless you now! Old Year, good-bye!

  1. Loved the poem. <3 It's showered with so much hope which warmed my heart. Thank you for all the stories, Josh! Here's to more plot bunnies & wonderful characters to come. *cheers*

  2. Happy New Year! Thank you for the Advent Calendar!

  3. Happy new year Josh ad all the others who do such great work supporting this site and others. May 2018 be brilliant for you all. I have a milestone birthday this year, I hope I live that long!

  4. I wish you the same and lots of best sellers as well. Thanks for all you do

  5. Well, thank you for a wonderful advent once again.
    Lovely poem, not seen that before

  6. Happy New year to you and yours. Wishing you a fabulous next year :)

  7. A beautiful New Year blessing from Neil Gaiman:

    Be kind to yourself in the year ahead.

    Remember to forgive yourself, and to forgive others. It's too easy to be outraged these days, so much harder to change things, to reach out, to understand.

    Try to make your time matter: minutes and hours and days and weeks can blow away like dead leaves, with nothing to show but time you spent not quite ever doing things, or time you spent waiting to begin.

    Meet new people and talk to them. Make new things and show them to people who might enjoy them.

    Hug too much. Smile too much. And, when you can, love.

    Happy New Year, Josh!

  8. Thanks so much for another fun Advent Calendar.

    Wishing you and yours a very happy, healthy New Year. <3

  9. Happy new year. May it be filled with joy and love. Blessings and peace.

  10. Have a very happy New Year 2018!

    And thank you for your stories! :-)

  11. Happy New Year to you and your family! Thank you for another great advent calendar.

  12. Thank you, Josh, and Happy New Year!!!

  13. Beautiful poem. Happy New Year! May 2018 8be kind to us all!

  14. Thank you for your endless generosity, Josh. You’re always so generously interacting with your readers, generously handing out all these giveaway gifts, generously sharing your time with us. Thank you for that and, of course, for your wonderful, wonderful books. May the year 2018 be an inspiring one for you, dear Josh.
