Cover Reveal" Blind Side (Dangerous Ground 6)

COVER BY L.C. CHASE
Or, in other words, I totally forgot it was Friday and I needed a blog post.

But that's okay. Stuff is happening and lots is going on and we both know you'd rather I was making books anyway. ;-)  So here is the official cover reveal for Blind Side, which is currently -- though tentatively -- scheduled for April of this year.

Blind Side was originally going to happen toward the end of the year, but the DG fans have been progressively hostile vocal in their requests for the next book. Frankly, that means zero to me. In fact, pushiness typically has the reverse effect (I'm not a good candidate for blackmail). What resonated was the reminder that I had promised--as in you promised!!!!--this book before, really, any of my other promised sequels. Ouch. It turns out I am a good candidate for guiltifying.

So okay. To the head of the queue it goes -- right after The Monet Murders, which is already in progress.

What is the book about?

Thank you for asking. ;-D

BLURB:
With resources already overstretched, the last thing Will and Taylor need is another client.

And the last thing Will needs is for that client to turn out to be an old boyfriend of Taylor’s.

But Ashe Dekker believes someone is trying to kill him, and Taylor is determined to help--whatever the cost.

That's right, Will. Let's see how YOU like it for a change.

I've been looking forward to writing this one for a good, long while. Part of the delay was that I wasn't sure--couldn't decide--if it would be the final book or not, so one of the subplots has been a question mark in my mind. And I honestly don't have the answer yet. I probably won't know until I'm writing this installment.

We shall see what we shall see.

  1. Sometimes I just turn and swat someone because I can.
    Just thought I'd share.
    Now get back to writing.
Taylor strikes me as a cat.

    1. Yes. Will and Taylor are Dog and Cat. They both like to hunt but they have different styles. :-D

    1. P.S. I, your adoring public, will not be ignored. Just drop the DG book, back away, and no one gets hurt...

  3. Maybe Will can introduce Ashe to David Bradley.

  4. This will be fun to see the tables turned on Will.

I'm easy to please and as long as there's a new book from you, I'm not picky about what it is. Every time I finish reading your newest release, I'm left with that feeling like when the season finale of your favorite show is over. You know it's going to be months before you can visit with them again. I guess that makes you my favorite TV show and each book is a new episode? If that makes any sense? :)

    1. Yeah, I'm sort of looking forward to torturing Will.

  5. I react the same way to blackmailing. Customers are trying that very often; if you not, then I will... It's always as if a shutter goes down in my mind and I go from friendly behaviour (let's see, what we can do) to a polite declination.
I am happy to read everything you write, that includes nonfiction. Surely I have my favourites, but not all of them get a new adventure. The last year I have very often listened to Stranger On The Shore, that book has a very soothing effect to me. When I can't sleep, I let my imagination free and give Griff and Pierce a new case to solve.
I am looking forward to read about Will and Taylor, and torturing Will a bit, sounds good. :-)
    That's a lovely cover!

    1. I love standalones for that very reason. There's something complete and comforting about them.

  7. I can't wait for this book to come out. I have all of your ebooks and audio books and I will be sure to purchase this one.

I have purchased several of your ebooks from Samhain. Thought I would let people know that Samhain is shutting down on February 28th, so if any of you have Josh's books in your library, be sure to download and save all your books.

    1. That's a good reminder!

I didn't realize Samhain held a library the same way ARE did.

  8. Perfect cover!! And, "Yay!" So looking forward to this book, and quite honestly, any other you care to roll out. :D It's like finding out we're getting another present for our collective fan birthday. Who can complain?! Thanks, Josh. :)

    1. Awww. Thank you, Karan. It's of course flattering that readers love certain characters and certain plots so much, but when I got a couple of notes from people complaining there would be another AE but not X, I couldn't help thinking Okay, I give up. :-D

  12. Great news. I love those boys, especially Taylor. Taylor grows on you. And I'm not even in the blackmail, um, guiltify club, but I could be. Where do I sign up?

    Pretty, pretty cover.

  13. Wow, that's surely a nice surprise! I cannot say I was very pleased to learn that it was scheduled to be out end of the year but making a request aggressively? Seems like a foreign concept to me. We all have our own schedule. Running the writer into another sabbatical isn't gonna help at all.

Anyways, I love this series and I hope it won't end soon. Can't wait for this installment.

    1. The thing is, sometimes you know you want to write another installment, but the actual story isn't there yet. You can shove ahead anyway, but that generally won't produce the best results. Better to let it simmer until it reaches that natural boiling point. Better for the writer AND the reader.

  17. The Blurb sounds super interesting and funny. I can't wait for it but I'll wait patiently. ^^

  18. The blurb made me laugh; tables turning should be a lot of fun!
I'm so excited!! :D The Dangerous Ground, Adrien English, and the Haunted Heart series are some of my favorites to re-read and I'm as bad as a little kid anticipating Christmas when I hear a new one is in the works.

I've never understood aggressive demand--- er, "requesting". Rushing and pushing people never turns out well and tends to just annoy everyone involved. I know I'm more likely to react badly to it and act contrarily instead, so I'm glad those requests didn't deter you from working on this series for a while. :)
