Today I'm sharing "Happy Christmas" performed by Lifehouse. As many of you know, I love Lifehouse. Something about their music sounds like my characters to me (although it's really hard to explain what I mean by that)
. Anyway, Lifehouse doesn't have a holiday album, so our options were somewhat limited. Still...you can never go wrong with John Lennon. (At least...I've always thought John Lennon wrote this?)
Thanks, Josh. This is lovely. It seems you are asking whether John Lennon wrote this song; he did in 1971 with Yoko. I have many favorites, some I don't know the name of, unfortunately, but I too love Santa Baby.
Oh, I have way too many favorites! When I was growing up we had one Christmas record that we continually played. It was a compilation album with carols by everybody from Peggy Lee to Bobby Darrin to Leontyne Price. All the classics.
One of my favorites is "Angels We Have Heard on High." When I was in Elementary School, we used to attend a Christmas music program at the local university and the university choir would always enter the auditorium carrying lighted candles, singing that song. It always gave me the chills.
Greensleeves [ aka what child is this } tune has a meldoy that hits my solar plexus. as for last couple of postings I already have all your books you listed lol once i foudn a great author I bought the lot. I spend way to much time reading or listening to audibles.
My favorite though, is "Oh Holy night."...and don't mock me for saying this, but one of my favorite renditions is by N'SYNC. The five-part harmony that they do is just wonderful. They singing acapella, which is even more impressive. Don't mock it until you've heard it. Lol.
Love Santa Baby, love I Believe in Father Christmas (Emerson, Lake, & Palmer), and I love Steven Page/the Barenaked Ladies' Hanukkah Blessings. Kind of an eclectic holiday set, yes?
Lifehouse YES!

Right? :-)
DeleteThank you for sharing. I've never heard Lifehouse before, but I like them.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite holiday song is Do You Hear What I Hear. Not sure why it's my favorite, but I've loved it since my 6th grade Christmas chorus concert.
Ha! I bet you sang it in 6th grade. (We did.)
DeleteWe did, lol. :D
DeleteMy favorite Christmas song is Christmas Eve/ Sarajevo by Trans-Siberian Orchestra. I use it as my ringtone this time of year I love it so much :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a good one!
DeleteI'm partial to The Rebel Jesus and (for sheer sentiment) Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.
Santa Baby, sang by Eartha Kitty. That's my favourite holiday song
ReplyDeleteI love that one! :-D And NOBODY did it better than Kitt.
DeleteI have many favorite songs for Christmas. I shall be exploring Lighthouse
ReplyDeleteI think you'll enjoy them!

Seems like they cheered up the lyrics a bit from the John Lennon version (The war is over, and a new one just begun...)
ReplyDeleteAnd so this is Christmas, and a Happy New Year.
Silent Night in any form. My favorite is the Boyz II Men a capella version.
