Advent Calendar - Day 20

D-d-day 2O??????

How can this be? But here we are five-count-'em-five days from Christmas! Ready or not, here it comes.

So today is simply a giveaway day.

I have twenty US and twenty UK audio download codes for EACH of the following four winter-themed books: A Case of Christmas**, Baby, it's Cold, Winter Kill and Slay Ride.

That's a lot of audio books!

These audio books are absolutely free to you. However, they can only be redeemed directly through audible.com/acx-promo OR audible.co.uk/acx-promo. If you're not already a member, you may have to supply a credit card. I'm not sure. I know you are not charged for these books and you should be able to unsubscribe whenever you like.

So here's how we're going to do this. Share one thing you love about the holidays in the comment section below and state which audio book you'd be interested in. Over the next few days, I'll go through and randomly select people to receive download codes (so please remember to check back periodically).

Happy Friday! :-)

***PLEASE REMEMBER TO STATE WHETHER YOU NEED US OR UK CODES***

**Please note, I'd originally listed All I Want for Christmas as one of the audio options, but there IS NO SUCH AUDIO BOOK. That's what I get for posting when I'm on cold meds. The option I meant to list is A Case of Christmas! However, I do have some other codes including Seance on a Summer's Night, Mainly by Moonlight, and The Monuments Men Murders.

  2. Wow! I'm really the first one here today?
Favorite thing about x-mas? Hanging out with everyone.
And no, I'm not looking for a code. I already have these so save them for people who haven't had the pleasure yet.
Besides my "gift" appears to be all the preorder notifications hitting my inbox.

  5. I love that although the holidays make people a little stressed and crazy, there’s still a desire to make someone happy or feel special in some way because of love. It’s a powerful emotion and healing.

I have all the titles in audio already, so I wish the lucky recipients good listening.

  8. I love the after-lunch walk that most of our family takes together on Christmas day. It's usually a little cold and a little meandering, but you never know what we'll find! Last year it was an opossum, trapped in a trash can! As for which audiobook I'd like...hmm. I think Winter Kill!

  12. I love that no matter how stressed everyone gets there is still a sense of peace and kindness all around. We miss those who have left us and cherish those who we still have. And the traditions. It is what gives us continuity between the past and the future.

Winter Kill is still my favorite.

  13. I love the spectacle! Decorations and seasonal beverages and the endless excuses to hang out and enjoy them with friends and family

US code please, and I'd love any of them but especially Winter Kill :)

  14. I like that everyone gets together to eat the big christmas dinner and there is no rush, enough food, candle light and talking and the televison stays off ;-)
My favorite is All I Want For Christmas (UK code please)

  16. Egg nog and Xmas cookies by the fire with a good book! I’d love a copy of Slay
    Ride (US Code).

  17. Hubs and I enjoy “Christmas Eve in Bed”. Yes, capitalized. It’s our tradition. We hang out in bed all day eating snacks and watching Christmas movies. At some point, we take a break and open gifts we got each other. We do this because Christmas Day is very hectic for us. We don’t have children so we are the ones on the road going from place to place visiting family. It’s our calm before the storm. 😎
And I think I would choose Winter Kill if I were to be selected for an audio code. Thanks for the opportunity!

  18. So, I won't see my students for two weeks. Don't get me wrong - I love them, but break is needed.
    And eggnog.

I'd love to get winter kill, us.

  19. What I love about Christmas is how random people wish you Merry Christmas. Wouldn’t it be fun if cashiers wished us a Happy Arbor Day or Happy Labor Day?

  20. When my sister and I were little and riding in our car at night, we used to yell "yay!" whenever we saw a house with Christmas lights. And if we happen to be in the car together at night even now, the tradition continues!

  21. You know how in a lot of families they say, "Oh, Christmas is just for family." Yeah, we don't do that. Anyone you know that'll be alone for Christmas, bring them along. Not only do they get fed, but there WILL be a present for them under Grandma's Christmas tree. It may be a box of chocolates or a scarf, but it's wrapped and waiting for them.

This year we have a family friend with no relative nearby and a kid that has a bad home situation coming. Guess what? Presents are already wrapped and waiting.

The best thing about Christmas is that we include anyone who needs to be included. That's what Christmas should be.

As a side note, I'd love any of the offered audio books. I've read them all but not yet listened.

  22. Spending time with my family and eating without guilt! I'd love Winter Kill (US); saig1964@hotmail.com

  23. The best thing about Christmas is my daughter’s Yorkshire puddings! Audio: Baby It’s Cold (US Code)

  24. I live in Argentina, so it's ALWAYS really hot so sangría would be the thing I love the most at this time of the year :P

Seriously, though, is the people. We are all going out of our ways to be nice and merry. I like

  25. Argh! And I forgot! Either Slay Ride or All I want for Christmas would be awesome :D

    ReplyDelete
  26. I love turning off all the lights but my tree. I snuggle up on the couch with hot cocoa and a good book and enjoy the twinkles. US codes, I think Slay Ride is the only one I don't already own!

  27. Is it too late? What I love about holidays is getting my niece the perfect gift. Everyone else gets garbage but I work really hard to make sure she gets something special. This year she wanted an mp3 player with meditations on it so I got to spend while scowering the web for meditation that would be of interest to an eight year old. Did you know they have Pokémon meditation out there?
If I could have an audiobook I would choose slay ride cause I don't think I've read that one! I'm in the US. I can't believe I haven't read it yet.

  28. The best thing about Christmas is it is time for hopes and dreams. If you know the situation in Hong Kong now, you should know no one here is remotely happy this Christmas unless miracles did appear and our wishes could be granted. Since it is not the case, we can only dream.
Meanwhile, wish you all a merry Christmas.
    (Slay Ride, US)
