Just about to the midpoint and I'm alarmed to say, I've only just started my holiday shopping. 🫨 Usually, I'd be done by now, but this year...
THIS YEAR.
THIS.
YEAR.
But anyway, I'm determined to finish that up by the end of the weekend, so I can get going on some Christmas codas.
Where are you with the holiday shopping? Where are you with the holidays?
Today's offering is simply a lovely image. Because we can all use some pleasant pictures in our brains right now.

I have decided the holidays will come whether I am ready or not. As long as I have someone to share a hug and a smile, it will be a good holiday. ❤️The picture is lovely! Reminded me of this…“Snow flurries began to fall and they swirled around people’s legs like house cats. It was magical, this snow globe world.” ~ Sarah Addison Allen
ReplyDeleteThat IS lovely!
DeleteI have NOT been on top of things this year. I blame Thanksgiving being so late and having a house full of guests that week.
ReplyDeleteI'm close to done with shopping... I think... mostly... I still have shopping to do for stocking stuffers and a few things to pick up for the kids. Then there are the cards I have yet to mail.
Oh, can't forget I have two packages to ship. Thankfully, my two sisters from other misters and I have an understanding when it comes to Christmas gifts. It'll get there when it gets there. Zero pressure to be on time.
Wellll, you're way ahead of me. I haven't mailed a single card, a single thank you card, and I'm only about halfway through shopping--in fact, I'm still at the figuring gifts out point with some folks! I can't remember the last time I felt this disorganized and behind during the holidays!
DeleteI'm barely ahead of anyone right now. I need to start on the cards today. I'm asking Super Spouse to cobble something together so I can print out the annual "what we did this year" letter and put those in with the cards. I'll be honest, I just don't want to add that to my plate right now. And I have to sort through the gifts we have and get that stuff organized so I can see who I've managed to forget. But the biggest thing I have to do is to stop looking at everything I haven't done or have to do as a whole. It's overwhelming. It gives me the same panicked feeling I get when I open the 17 -year-old's bedroom door, look into the cave and see mounds of clothes and shoes and books and, just, stuff that she hasn't put away. I need to break my to-do list down into little, manageable piles so I don't run off and hide in a corner.
DeleteA few years ago we decided to only buy gifts for the kids in the family (two 4 year- olds, two 7 year-olds, a 15 and a 17 year- old). It makes the holiday so much less stressful and the kids go home with a ton of Christmas loot!
ReplyDeleteThat's usually what families do after a certain point. Apparently, we really love a challenge! CHRISTMAS WOULDN'T BE CHRISTMAS WITHOUT COMPLETING A SURVIVAL COURSE! LOL
