Fair Chance. Third and final book in the All's Fair series.
You know what's coming. Right? ;-D I don't need to tell you anything more about this one?
And a traditional mystery standalone called Murder Takes the High Road.
A vacationing librarian must solve the murder of fellow tourists when someone begins picking off members of a gay bus tour traveling through the scenic highlands and islands of Scotland.
I believe I mentioned elsewhere that LB Gregg and I plan to take Scotland by storm in October. Well, I don't travel anywhere that it doesn't inevitably turn into a book. Though happily so far I have not been involved in any real murder investigations.
And I would like to keep it that way!
Awesome! Looking forward to your new books, especially the third one in the All's Fair series.
ReplyDeleteHopefully it will be as entertaining to read as I imagine it will be to write. :-)
DeleteAlready looking forward to 2016
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThis is indeed good news! Hooray! I know they're going to be good, because they're going to be written in your beautiful new office. I expect lots of pictures from Scotland. :-D
ReplyDeleteWell, the photos will be taken. Whether I ever manage to successfully download them remains a question. :-D
DeleteMaybe Lisa can do it with her new Apple watch....or not. :-D
Deletegrumbling noises from CT
DeleteHahahahaha...no pressure, babe. no pressure.
DeleteHa ha ha. The legendary Apple watch! :-D
DeleteWait - so you're NOT Adrien English? Prime suspect in how many murder investigations? :)
ReplyDeleteThe two new books sound great. I just really love your voice lately.
Distracted? ;-D
DeleteI can't wait for Fair Chance. I've been haunting your blog for news on that one. Murder Takes the High Road looks great too. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteOh good! I'm happy to finally have some actual news to share.
DeleteTwo new books means two new audio versions. You need not fear downloading Josh, the new cameras pretty much do it for you. If you can figure out how to plug in a cable, you can download the pics.
ReplyDeleteTrue enough regarding the audio books.
DeleteThe downloading...my laptop refuses to recognize my phone. It keeps insisting YOU DO NOT EXIST.
:D That's all...just a big silly grin. Really looking forward to all you have to share with us in the years ahead.
ReplyDeleteMe too. Thanks, Karan. :-D
DeleteOh, this is wonderful news. :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd you know, October will be here soon! How fun that Murder Takes the High Road will be set in Scotland! :-D
A day of good news.
DeleteYesterday we worked in our new little garden. Sweeping, pruning roses, stringing star lights, hanging chimes, cleaning the pool...
Cleaning. The. Pool. I'm sure it won't seem so magical in a few months, but right now? MAGIC.
Lovely to have a new garden to play in.
DeleteAll that sounds so cool, J! It sure sounds magical to me. :-D It sounds like you two have found just the right place for you. Enjoy your first moments with your new garden and that magical pool! And report back when you've made the first dive in it. I'm grinning like a fool here — I'm SO HAPPY for you guys! :-)
DeleteOh, jeez: a new All's Fair AND Scotland? My cup runneth over with glee!
ReplyDeleteI haven't done cozy mystery in a while, so I'm quite looking forward to that one!
DeleteSo much good news, Josh—for you and for us! New stories to write in your new home. Enjoy the months ahead of you. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Susan. :-)
DeleteGreat! Thank you for telling us. I love Scotland, I'm in love with Elliott and Tucker and I'm delighted to get more books from you. All is well, and soon I'll forget the election in the UK ;-)
ReplyDeleteLOL
DeleteYes, even you need a little restful down time, Antonella. A comfy corner, a few quiet hours and a good book. ;-)
I'm so happy ,,your books are awesome.🎇🎇😀😀😀😀📚📚📚
ReplyDelete:-D
DeleteI guess smilies of my kindel doesn't work in your block. Ja ja. :)
ReplyDeleteLOL Those were very mysterious pauses!
DeleteEverything sounds wonderful! :-D
ReplyDeleteEverything feels wonderful. Although my the end of yesterday my back was killing me and we'd only moved a single load of books.
DeleteDear God we have a lot of books!
Oh, fantastic! Thank you, Josh, I needed cheering up today. I do hope you and LB will have fun in Scotland. You will go to Skye, of course?
ReplyDeleteI love Skye. LOVE, but I don't think it's on the agenda. That will have to be on our triumphant return....provided I survive the fall trip.
DeleteWell, I hope today is a better day, Helena. No Skye this trip and no Outer Hebrides. But that just gives us a reason to go back again. ;-)
DeleteYou're planning to kill me, aren't you?
ReplyDeleteLB Gregg? Hmm. I think the last time I saw her she was swimming in the loch, wasn't she? ;-D
DeleteI have a sweet spot for Elliot and Tucker, because Fair Game was my first Josh Lanyon book. I am so looking forward to read this book!! And I am a mystery fan and love Scotland so I am happy that you will write Murder Takes the High Road. You both don't think about a diary about your journey?
ReplyDeleteI will definitely keep a diary.
DeleteAnd the fact that it will mostly be spent detailing every single thing LB Gregg does is just a COINCIDENCE. ;-D
Yay! So glad to hear aobut the 3rd book.
ReplyDeleteIf you're happy, I'M happy. (That's actually true.)
DeleteSuch good news! Something to look forward to in the future. Thank you, Josh!
ReplyDelete2016 will be a busy year for sure. :-)
DeleteWonderful news! Always look forward to your books Josh. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThanks, CJ!
DeleteWell, I'm officially excited about 2016 now. I don't recall you saying anything about Fair Chance other than there would be a third book. Hmm, maybe there is a vague something in the back of my mind. Murder Take the High Road does sound very traditional...and intriguing. Congratulations on signing.
ReplyDeleteOnce I went ahead and planned out Book 2, I knew there would have to be a Book 3. That was one of those All or Nothing situations. ;-)
DeleteI love Scotland! Even the air smells different there! And the seafood!! I hope you are not allergic or something. It'd be a shame to miss the fresh langoustines and mussels, scallops, oysters ... And the people there are so nice. Too bad you can't squeeze in Skye. I hope you have time for some castles. Eileen Donan castle just took my breath away. Even the ruined ones look romantic. Oh, I'd better stop babbling. You guys enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteSavanna
Definitely not allergic to sea food. :-D And I am looking forward to Scottish salmon, etc. I know it's going to be a fantastic trip. If Scotland is anything like Ireland, you can't walk ten feet without falling over a castle and/or a graveyard.
DeleteI remember a whole rainbow trout as breakfast at a B&B - best breakfast ever! [Yeah, we are that obsessive with seafood.] We actually booked their breakfast the next day though we no longer stayed there. :-D
DeleteSavanna
Looking forward to Elliott's and Tucker's adventures. And for the Scottish murder mystery, will the murder weapon will be a sgian-dubh? Or haggis?
ReplyDeleteDeath by Nessie? :-D We shall see. Or maybe the tour bus will roll over some hapless victim...
DeleteCholesterol poisoning a la fried Mars bar? Fatally beaned by a golf ball? Choked to death by a bagpipe? Scared to death in the Glasgow necropolis?

DeleteYay! So many excellent books to look forward to in the coming months. Thank you for this wonderful news, Josh!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Patty! It's going to be a busy and fulfilling next few months, I think! :-)
DeleteScotland...my favorite country...be still my beating heart! I am beyond excited about the upcoming books...so great to have something to look forward to in 2016!
ReplyDeleteAwesome news! Two mysteries! Can't wait! :-)
ReplyDeleteScotland is one of my favorite places! I haven't been yet, but will someday. I hope you have lots of fun there :-)
